Since its inception in 1978, the Jewell County Threshing Bee has been a staple in our community. Held on the third weekend of July each year, spectators from all over come to take in sights of how they farmed back in the olden days! Antique farm equipment is on display all weekend and families can grab a bite to eat or a quick drink at one of the many vendors.

Robert Turner Summer Concert Series

The Mankato City Library received significant funds after the sale of a rare book, donated by Robert Turner. One condition of the sale was that some of the funding has to be used for the arts. The Library Board now allocates funds annually to bring in artists to perform at Mankato City Park. Eventually, the concert series grew popular enough, it required a stage which is now available for all types of entertainment, weddings, church services, classes, theater productions, and a wide variety of musical events.
