JCCDA Annual Report 2015

670% Return on Investment

This past year, Jewell County has invested a total of $12,971 in the Jewell County Community Development Association (JCCDA), and that investment has paid off. Jewell County Community Development has brought in $87,000 in grant money, plus JCCDA played an important role in bringing Dollar General to Jewell County.

5 new businesses opened in Jewell County this year, including Andy’s Floral, Walker Automotive, Blue Planet EcoDesign, Lovewell Marina, and Dollar General.

Dollar General opened a new location on Highway 36 in Mankato. JCCDA worked with the nation-wide corporation to purchase and restore land along the highway.

JCCDA assisted in the grant writing and application process for many community groups. $50,00 in Dane Hansen Grants was given to community projects in Jewell County, as well as $12,000 to the Formoso Skating Rink, and $25,000 to the Randall Community Center.

JCCDA has been working with the Mankato City Council to research options for a new pool and/or wellness center. Surveys were distributed in December.

JCCDA is a resource local businesses and community groups can use to help find solutions to problems. JCCDA worked with 25 businesses and 31 community groups in 2015.
